Evaluation Matrix 3

Name of teaching resource

Who should this digital teaching resource be used with? (ie year/grade)

Any age

This resource allows teachers and coaches to lesson plan effectively. While there is a large amount of information relating to particular sports there is also use for it to create your own activities and games. There is different information available for whatever age group you are intending to coach/teach/instruct.

Students could also use this site to create their own drills or games.

How should it be used? (e.g. individual, whole class)
This resource allows you to create lesson plans so using it as a whole class is probably going to be more effective. The idea is to gain ideas and structure for physical activity so you can go out and put it into practice. Sportplan allows you to put your ideas on paper and get a hard copy out to take wherever the outside game is taking place. Or you can use it on a mobile device such as smartphone or tablet which is handy when your out on the field.

Identify the strengths of this teaching resource

The amount of information that is available to use and adapt upon. Its “save-able” so you can re-vist or re-work what you need as you go along.

Identify any weaknesses of this teaching resource
The website is a little clunky with the drawings of drills

Explain any ideas you may have for further use of this teaching resource
Being a website that allows you to compile ideas and drawings for physical activity, I would like to see this adapted for more children’s use. So get children to “teach” others a game they have created. It would be effective to teach communication skills via printed out plans. And being digital means that you can edit changes along the way after having “physical demos”.
